Finding the right balance between striking and approachable is the heart of great actor headshots. This past September, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Rim—a Berlin-based musician and aspiring actor—for a natural light portrait session around Senefelderplatz in Prenzlauer Berg.

Rim reached out looking for authentic, expressive headshots to build out her acting profile and sedcard. When capturing headshots for actors, the goal is never to create overly polished or rigid studio poses. Casting directors want to see real expression, genuine personality, and versatility.

Crafting Authentic Actor Headshots

Prenzlauer Berg provided the perfect urban backdrop for our session. Moving between quiet side streets and the textured architectural elements near Senefelderplatz, we kept the mood relaxed and collaborative.

By working with soft, natural light, we focused on bringing out Rim’s natural charisma and artistic energy:
